Our Governance

The Board’s main role is to endorse and approve the body of knowledge to be developed for the Association. It will have a secondary, more operational role as identified below in order to set up the association.

Governance

ACGP’s Board is its supreme governing body, responsible for the oversight of its activities. The Board is in place to agree ACGP’s strategy and budget, and to delegate the day to day operation to committees and ACGP staff.

The majority of the Board is elected by ACGP members, supplemented by co-opted and ex officio members. This is to ensure that Board represents the main sectors and interests of the whole membership. It is supported by two other boards that oversee the main areas of ACGP activity - Learning and Professional Development, and Member Services.

The Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the delivery of ACGP’s operational plan. It also plays an important role in helping to shape the ACGP strategy.
